Gemini Launches Audio Feature for Google Docs

Google has added a new feature to Google Docs that allows you to turn any document into audio using AI, which means the document is will be “read aloud” to you.

Key Features

  • You can listen to your document like audio (almost like a mini podcast version of your writing).
  • You can choose different voices and change the reading speed.

This feature is not for everyone yet. It’s rolling out to people who have paid Google Workspace plans like:

  • Business
  • Enterprise
  • Education
  • Or users with the AI Pro or Ultra subscription

And also, It works only on desktop (laptop/computer) not mobile yet.

How To Use

As a reader:

  • Open the shared Google Doc.
  • Go to the Tools menu.
  • Click on Audio > Listen to this tab.

As the author:

You can insert a play button inside the document: Go to Insert > Audio and choose the options you want.
